This is a fully self contained unit within the Clinic comprising shower, changing rooms and toilet facilities. A special hoist aids entrance to the water, and for those unsure of water or non-swimmers the water is at a safe level and maintained at a warm body temperature. There is also hydro-massage spa, sauna and steam room to aid relaxation.

Each patient is assessed specifically for hydrotherapy to rule out any contraindications. The patient is hoisted into the pool with the assistance of two therapists. All treatments are tailor made to the patient’s clinical needs. Hydrotherapy is a safe ad effective way to progress rehabilitation, addressing all aspects of muscle strengthening, sore stability and range of movement, without the normal pressure of gravity.

When in the Hydrotherapy Pool gravity is reduced to one seventh when the patient is immersed, therefore the water becomes an excellent medium for return to function and mobility for both the surgical rehabilitation patient and sports injury alike. Once gains have been made in the water the therapist can transfer these advances to regular dry land based activities. It has been found that the heat and added buoyancy also have added effects in the reduction of muscle spasm.

Physiotherapy assistants are always in attendance. Following treatment, patients may like to avail themselves of further relaxing facilities we have to offer.
