Aromatherapy
What is aromatherapy?
Holistic Aromatherapy is an ancient art of
natural healing, which can be used to promote physical, mental and spiritual
health equilibrium. It forms part of a holistic healing regime which involves
searching for the root causes of illness rather than its symptoms, awakening the
body’s innate ability to heal itself. This is obtained by the use of essential
oils each of which has an affinity to a particular part of the anatomy.
Aromatherapy involves far more that the application of essential oils to achieve
"whole healing", factors such as diet and lifestyle must always be considered.
Orthodox medical practitioners now recognise the benefits of the fastest growing
natural healing art in this country. Essential oils are pure, natural aromatic
liquid substances, endowed with a whole host of therapeutic properties, some are
stimulating, some boost the body’s ability to fight infections, others eliminate
toxins and some are calming.

How many treatments?
Assessment of a patient’s health and presenting condition will
determine the frequency of treatments for maximum benefit.
How long is a treatment?
The
initial consultation should allow approximately 10 minutes for consultation. A
full body massage can be completed in an hour. This includes the back, back of
legs, front of legs, arms, neck and shoulders and abdomen. Obviously this can be
adjusted to suit one’s various conditions thereby spending more time on certain
areas.
