For thousands of years mankind has developed methods of dealing with disease. One of the most ancient and effective forms of natural healing is reflexology. In this treatment, reflexes on the feet that correspond to bodily functions and organs are stimulated using finger and thumb pressure. Another ancient method of healing is acupuncture, where the body’s meridians (natural lines of energy and electricity are stimulated by needles. Both reflexology and acupuncture promote relaxation and healing.

Originated in Denmark in the early 60’s. It was developed to its present level in South Africa by Inge Dougans in the mid 70’s and introduced to Britain in 1986.

How effective is Vacuflex?
Results from treatment depend on a number of factors: duration and severity of condition, general health / age. The earlier treatment is sought, the more likely a rapid improvement will be experienced. For example a recent problem that is not particularly serious, occurring in a relatively healthy person, may respond more rapidly than a fairly serious problem that has lasted a long time, in a weakened or elderly person. The treatment is carried out in three phases :

Phase I involves the use of felt boots linked to an air pump that creates a vacuum around both feet stimulating all reflexes relating to bodily functions. Whilst effecting the benefits of reflexology, when the boots are removed marks and colours can be seen on the feet for approximately 30 seconds, indicating areas of congestion and imbalance in the body. As treatment and elimination of congestion takes place the colours on the feet change illustrating progress made. The reflex boot provides the following benefits:

• Both feet are treated effectively

During Phase II of treatment specific acupuncture points along the meridians (electrical / energy pathways) are stimulated by means of vacuum pads instead of needles.
